The new KTM 50โ€™s 2013-2026 come with a great innovative clutch assembly. This clutch is adjustable and can be upgraded with Nihilo Concepts HD springs and Coated Clutch Pins. However one part of the clutch needed a little help so the engineers at Nihilo went to work to improve it even further.

Built into the KTM 50 clutch assembly is a cushioning system designed to soften the hard hit when engaging at high RPMโ€™s this cushioning system consists of two opposing beveled washers between the gear and basket. When the clutch engages these spring washers compress and take away the initial hard hit. The KTM engineers did this to avoid exsessive stress to the rear hub and sprockets, many of you might remember the issues years ago with the KTM 50 rear hubs breaking from the lack of a cushioning system.

The problem with this system is when it gets hot it can wear out and cause the clutch to slip, until now the only way to fix the week washers was to purchase an entire new assembly at almost $600.00. Nihilo has designed a thicker and stronger spring washer made from high quality steel that will not sack out when exposed to heat like the thin stock washer and will only cost you $19.95. Installation is simple, just disassemble the gear from the basket and replace one of the washers with the new stronger and thicker Nihilo washer. Your clutch will come back to life and still maintain the cushioning affect needed to avoid hub and sprocket damage.

Totally worth buying! The assembly is tinkertoy easy and they look nice! I bought four of the six tiers for my small home art studio.. one for books and three for all else. I didn't want big heavy shelves and these are light and stable! I put them with a couple other storage pieces I already had, painted a piece of 1x12 lumber white, to put across the top of them to make one long shelf and installed a couple of battery operated puck lights in them, and voila; a large, stable unit without the intimidating weight or price. If my little art studio were bigger I would buy more of them!

I purchased not one, but *two* of these shelves for the purposes of storing my massive hoard of plush toys. For what I purchased them for, they get the job done swimmingly and they look great with the rest of my room. Assembly was simple, and although it was fairly easy to figure out, the provided instruction manual may not be easy for some to make sense of. There are also provided pieces for mounting the shelves to the wall for added sturdiness, and though they are included in the parts list, there are no provided instructions for them. One thing buyers should be aware of is the shelves and legs may arrive dirty with the dust and dirt from the factory. It's relatively easy to wipe them off with your hand, but it may not be a good first impression. As other buyers mentioned, a few of the pieces came with visual imperfections that, while easy to hide, may turn away those who are more particular about aesthetics. For the price however, the shelves are still well-made. Other buyers have mentioned concerns about the sturdiness and stability of the shelves. I cannot comment on the sturdiness as plush toys are not particularly heavy, however the shelves do exhibit a wobble (which is to be expected for this particular make of shelf; one without structural support in between the beams). That being said, though it wobbles, it doesn't feel as if it will fall apart easily. The pieces are all solid wood, as well. One negative is when I was putting on one of the feet for the second shelf, I'd twisted it tight (as I did with no issue for the other pieces), but for this particular piece it caused the glued in screw component to pop out. I had to use pliers to remove it from the shelf so I could use one of the spare legs instead. I did not face this issue with any other pieces, but it should be kept in mind that the application of glue across the pieces does not appear to be consistent. All in all, it is a good shelf and I am satisfied with my purchase. I did not expect a pristine or elegant shelf (nor did I intend to buy one), as this is a very fairly priced shelf. I got what I paid for.
